Nice to meet you
Hey, there!
My name is Jacqueline Beltran.
Also called “Dr. Jacks,” by my closest friends and family. I am a board-certified doctor in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. This is a field few have heard of, even other doctors! I like to tell people “I am a doctor of function.” I help patients regain independence after a traumatic hospitalization resulting in a decline in their ability to care for themselves and in their mobility. I have been lucky enough to have worked in different settings within out-patient clinics, surgery centers, acute hospitals, and subacute facilities. I helped patients manage their physical traumas and injuries which often included pain issues. It became apparent to me, in all this experience, that most Americans have an underlying lack of structure for their mental traumas/injuries. Physical health is very clearly tied to Mental health! Our health care workers are out there working hard with their hearts on the line aiming to improve this but the system we are working in is broken. We have reached a time where the greater population has turned to online communities and social media for information instead of turning to their doctors for advice. There is so much out there on self-help, mental health, and food as medicine. Unfortunately, a lot of it is still propaganda and often someone trying to sell you something. I believe whole health should be available to everyone, regardless of your socio-economic status. I can guide you along a path to improve your mindfulness and intentions as well as some tips for improved body health!
